Crap joke of the day
I was in the frozen foods aisle of Coles the other day and I thought up this great joke that was so funny that I just had to share it with the world.

Q. What do get if you get a bit of Chicken Kiev and a slice of bacon?

A. Kiev'n Bacon!

MWAHHAHAHAHAA! I kill me!!

Everything zen
Due to popular demand (from zen) my Crazy Conversations with zen are now online. There you find 2 pages of drivel that some people actually enjoy reading. Check them out one time, wont you? Sorry for the lack of updates lately, but when it rains, it pours... know what I mean, eh? *nudge nudge wink wink* Eh?

Num num meat meat!
At the request of my good buddy, Ade, I am hereby announcing that we will be having a roast of some description on Saturday night for tea, shortly followed by some kind of social activity, including but not necessarily limited to the consumption of alcohol. That is all.

I'm Still Alive
Hi folks. Just a quick one to let you know that I'm still around, and to fill you in on what's been keeping me so damn occupied lately.

  • Wedding date -- December 1st, 2001. Those near and dear to me (you know who you are), keep that date open. You have been given plenty of notice.
  • Engagement party -- This is where you've been given not very much notice at all. Sorry. This has been quite disorganised. We knew what we wanted: just a casual get together with friends, with a BBQ at the lake in Shepp. But then there were complications such as no alcohol being allowed at the lake, etc. (That's been resolved... drinking's allowed 'til 9pm! Yay!) Well its this Saturday at 5pm at the Victoria Lake - The big BBQ area at the north end, with the swings ands stuff. Be there or be slightly pear-shaped. If plans change, relevant people will be contatced, and it will be posted here.
  • The church -- St. Brendan's Church in Shepparton has been booked. Its a lovely looking church, and the priest (Msgr. Jeffery) seems like an alright sort of bloke as far as preisty types go. There's a few couples/relationship exercises we have to go through first, but that's alright.
  • The reception -- Riviera Receptions in Mooroopna has been booked. It's a bit of a woggy venue, but we've chosen a really nice meal, and they take care of a lot of things for us. Speaking of the meal, if you're coming, don't eat for about a week beforehand. With 5 courses, there will be no shortage of food.
  • The photographer -- Dale Wright has been booked for the day. Everyone else is booked out solid, but he seems nice enough and I like his work. I had no idea that wedding photos were so expensive though.
  • Renovations -- Yep. I've been out in the back yard with Gracie's dad doing much of the digging and the raking and the concreting. We've made a nice little path running from the back door to the shed, and we've filled in the rest with top-soil, ready for new lawn. Nice garden beds are going to be laid along the side of the house too. Following that, we've got some painting to do as well. We've been trying to get everything done as soon as we can so I can sell.
  • House hunting -- We've eased up a bit on the house hunting. We want to make sure that whatever we get is perfect for both of us, whether we buy or build, we're willing to wait. Here's what we're doing. After I sell my unit, we'll be moving into Gracie's 3 bedroom house in town, and with a few renovations there, Gracie can run her beauty salon from there (If you have any suggestions for a good name for the salon, please leave them in the comments thing below), and there will still be plenty of room for us too. We'll probably stay there for about 5 years or so, then while we're there, we'll save our asses of for our dream home, whatever that may be.

So as you can see I've had my hands full recently. Don't worry. I'll get back into the swing of things as soon as things settle down. Ive got plenty of photos and Crazy Conversations to go online sometime in the near future, if only to give Jules something to read.

Mikey Gets Engaged!
Yep... Gracie and I are finally engaged. The story is way too long to put in one of these little boxes so you'll all have to read about it in the Output section. Enjoy.

Leave your comments here!
After much of the clicking and the rooting around, I've finally gotten this "Comments" thing to work. From now on, you'll be able to click that "View/Add Comments" link at the bottom of each news post, and you can leave a little comment for me and other visitors. Newspro has an add-on called kTalk which is supposed to make things easy... and it probably does when it works. I've had to scrap most of the code and re-write it by hand in ASP and perl. It also uses a database now. I'll eventually be moving a lot of the content across to the database too, so the groundwork is set for that now.

Chrono Cross
I'm playing Chrono Cross on the Playstation at the moment, and it is one kick-ass RPG... in fact, I would go as far as to say that it kicks ass! I've clocked up about 35 hours so far, and I'm just on the 2nd CD now. It's even got a few eye-opening theories on evolution, not wholly unlike Xenogears' views on God. Check it out:

"The life forms on this planet developed from single-celled microorganisms to protozoans, then from fish to amphibians, from reptiles to mammals and eventually to humans. Beginning with a cerebal neocortex, which only exists in higher mammals, the anthropod brain enlarged at an accelarated pace until it became the human brain we know. Could the reason for the abnormal development of the human brain be the biological contamination caused by Lavos (an alien meteor, fallen to earth in prehistoric times wiping out dinosaur life)? That would mean that humans are really a heterogeneous life-form, or "foreign matter", as far as the planet is concerned. Humans are a sudden mutation caused by the contact with Lavos -- an alien life form that fell to this planet from space. That is why humans are, biologically speaking, unbalanced and half-finished. Internally inconsistant and disconnected, the human existence is plagued by contradictions. An incomplete species, torn between love and hatred, who's very being is self-contradictory. From the planet's viewpoint, humans are just destroyers and a cursed, yet perhaps pathetic, blight on the world"

I love bizzare websites
... and this is pretty bizzare. This was sent to me by Eliot Jarman, a regular subscriber to McMedia's Newsletter. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I love it! Check out the online store of a mental patient.

Best day yet!
Last Tuesday was Planet MadDog's most popular day yet, with a mammoth (well, for me anyway) 71 unique hits for the day! Thanks to everyone who visited me on Tuesday, even if you did just check out the BBQ pics, but I hope you did have a bit of a look around and find at least one reason to come back some time.

On an unrelated note, according to my stats package someone found Planet MadDog typing "fat hairy women" into a search engine. Another guy found it by "Geoff Jantz"... Go figure.

OzChat 2 Online
Well, after a year or so of development time, including 147+ hours of programming from Noel, not to mention my time from making templates, designing, planing, and coordinating the project, OzChat 2 has gone live, leaving the original OzChat in it's dust.

OzChat 2 is a completely templated, database driven, super happy, hyper plus extra extra mega EX revolutionary webchat borne from the ideas and concepts of myself and the other OzChatters.

If you're not already registered, click da damn link and sign yourself up. There are still a few bugs, and the speed will improve when we move the server to a 100Meg ether, but until then it still kicks the aardvarks aass, so enjoy.
